My friend Fabi Preslar was recently honored by Morton's here in Charlotte as part of their Celebration of Women Entrepreneurs. Dozens of women – and two brave men – enjoyed a great lunch and an inspiring presentation.

Fabispeaks Fabi (right) is the president of Spark Publications and the force of nature behind my book, I Can't Cook, But I Know Someone Who Can.

Of course, Fabi didn't give any ordinary speech.  She took part of her time and gave it over to the crowd, asking us to each stand and give an 8 second elevator pitch for our businesses.  Great idea and it turned out to be a lot of fun.  I may use that myself sometime.

Congratulations, Fabi.  Of course, she's cooking up something new.  Along with great client projects, Fabi's  working on her own book now.

Among the many successful women in the crowd was Terri Bennett (left).  She was the meteorologist at NBC 36 for years and now runs Do Your Part (For everyday green living).

Lunch was delicious and I came away energized and full of ideas and a great Morton's lunch.  Had to run, but got to take my chocolate mousse to go!
